“Self-motivated,” “driven,” “destined to achieve greatness,” are just a few of the ways to describe commercial real estate specialist Gary Vonk, who launched his career as a real estate professional after serving as CEO for a half a dozen private and publicly-held corporations.  Vonk carved out a unique niche in corporate leadership for himself by establishing a renowned reputation as a turnaround specialist; a professional dedicated to transforming business performance.

Most recently he served as President/CEO of Cirque, a marketing and merchandising company based in Seattle.  Prior to that position, he was President/CEO of automotive giant Midas International.  He joined Keyes Company’s Palm Beach Gardens office three years ago to help recruit and train a team of commercial specialists and build the office’s commercial division.

“Gary has parlayed his talent for identifying areas of opportunity to increase business performance into an incredibly successful career in commercial real estate,” said Barb Ross "Palm Beach Gardens District Sales Manager".  “When Gary sets a goal, he is unstoppable, and at the same time, he is one of the most genuine, humble and conscientious people you will ever meet.”

Vonk created the Galaxy Commercial Team, which has achieved $30 million in office buildings, land, small businesses and other commercial real estate listings.  He recently completed his MBA from Florida Atlantic University, and also teaches business and management courses through Keiser University’s on-line program.

He selected Keyes Company to develop his career in real estate because, “Keyes is a fabulous family-run business whose supportive, approachable management team offers professionals the freedom and resources to achieve whatever they set out to achieve.”

Even with his schedule of teaching college-level courses, serving as partner in an import business that deals in Russian Art, and leading the Galaxy Commercial Team, Vonk takes the time to serve his clients at a level beyond their expectations.  When one of his listings had a broken sprinkler, it was Vonk who arrived and replaced it himself to abide by water shortage restrictions.

“The key to success, really in just about any industry, is to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of your clients, and to make doing business with you a great, memorable experience,” Vonk noted.  “I would also offer advice to those entering the commercial real estate profession: learn the basics in finance; know the measurement tools that clients use.

“After all, our mission as commercial real estate professionals is to add value, to know and understand more about the buying and selling process than our clients do,” he added.
